Infrastructure Projects Thiruchirappali Railway Junction

The Tiruchirappalli Railway Junction is one of the major railway stations in Tamil Nadu, India. It is a crucial transportation centre in the region, and some infrastructure improvement was needed to facilitate smooth and efficient travel. 

We had an opportunity to be involved in infrastructure projects targeted at enhancing passenger experience, improving operational efficiency and overall modernizing of the station’s facilities. 

Project Elements 

  • Heritage model porticos at both entries with integrated signage 
  • New second entry building with ticket counters and platform access 
  • Modern façade and car park development 
  • Connections to foot over bridges 
  • Kallakudi platform improvements, and renovation of 15 railway quarters in Kallakudi 
  • Construction of Platform 8 with compound wall and amenities 

Project Highlights 

  • Completed primary renovation in 9 months 
  • All components delivered in 2024 
  • Maintained continuous railway operations during construction 

Track Works 

  • Complete track renewal of 5kms length of Broad gauge tracks 
  • CTR and maintenance work in and around Tiruchirappalli Junction 
  • Construction of new point and crossing – insertion 1in 12 at 23 locations in cord line of Tiruchirappalli from TPJ to BN 
  • Construction of new point and crossing – insertion 1in 12 at 15 locations in cord line of Tiruchirappalli from TPJ to Dindigul 
  • Welding of rails – 3500 number in running conditions in and around Tiruchirappalli Junction 

For us this project showcases our capabilities to work on critical transportation infrastructure, specifically in the railway sector.  

There is rapid renovation and modernization of railway stations going on in the country which aims to increase the comfort and convenience of rail passengers. This project now gives us the expertise in participating in such projects across the country. 

In addition we believe that railways serve as key infrastructure elements for nation building and we are proud of our contribution in this area.
